Clinicians, particularly doctors and physician assistants who serve children, will appreciate this evidence-based continuing education course developed by University of Washington faculty. Using a case-based format, the course provides training in five areas related to pesticides and child health: recognition and assessment of pesticide exposure, acute poisoning, public health and regulations, chronic health implications, and prevention.
The course was created following a rigorous review of the published literature by University of Washington pediatricians, exposure scientists and other experts with the regional Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit and the Pacific Northwest Agricultural Safety and Health Center (funding provided by CDC/ATSDR and NIOSH). The University of Washington School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 2 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
